About Robert HaightRobert Haight was born in Detroit and lives at Hemlock Lake in Cass County, Michigan, with his wife, Tomasa Delgado Haight. They have two grown children who are musicians, and two dogs and cat that are their only stay-at-home, qualified dependents. He was educated at Western Michigan University where he received an MFA in Creative Writing and BA in English and linguistics, and Michigan State University where he took graduate courses in education. He has published two poetry collections, Emergences and Spinner Falls (New Issues Poetry and Prose 2002), which was nominated for the Great Lakes Book Award, and Water Music (Ridgeway Press 1995), essays and articles on fly fishing, the environment, and education, and poems that have appeared in dozens of journals and magazines. He has received awards from the Arts Foundation of Michigan, Kalamazoo Foundation, Poetry Resource Center of Michigan, Western Michigan University, and has been listed in Whos Who Among Americas College Teachers and Michigan Writers. When not teaching, he might be found fly fishing, petitioning for peace, sitting meditation or weeding his garden, probably in about that order.
